Nurse researchers at Brigham and Women’s Hospital are testing a breakthrough for inpatient care: blood draws without needle sticks. Hospitalized patients in the study have an intravenous (IV) catheter inserted once and nurses use special single-use devices to conduct subsequent blood draws through the IV.
